Oct. 21, 2018

Hey everybody!! I'm glad you all had a fun time!! we had a pretty great week as well! I swear time as a trainer is just flying by, we are just starting week 6 now but I feel like the transfer just started.
Monday was pretty normal. nothing crazy happened really. Although we did buy a cake for a family and took it to them. a couple weeks ago we went to their house and when we sat on their couch it just broke.... so I guess it wasn't made for big fat Americans to sit on... Sp we took them that as an apology.
Tuesday we just had work. nothing crazy special happened.
Wednesday we talked with Shannel to make sure she was ready to be baptized and then just tried to find more people to teach. That is probably our number 1 problem, having people to teach but we are working on it.
Thursday was weekly planning. That was honestly a bit tough just because we don't have a whole lot of names to work with right now but we did our best.
Friday was a blast because we got invited to sing as part of a missionary choir for a lady's funeral. We had like 15 minutes to practice after district council and then later that night we went out and sang. Either the spirit stepped in big or the people are just really nice because they all said we sounded really good. That was pretty fun though.
Saturday we baptized Shannel!! that was the highlight of the week for sure. It was a really nice program. The zone leaders had planned it out so that everybody baptizing that day in the zone was there and the spirit was there so strongly. It is good prep for our goal of a white Christmas (100 people baptized(all dressed in white)) I am sure we can make it happen but not without a lot of prayers and faith. hopefully the turnout is huge for that.
Sunday was a pretty normal day as far as Sundays go. Just work and then church. It really started to rain Saturday night all into Sunday so I guess it really is time for the rainy season to start up in  full force.
dad I haven't had 12 hours of sleep in a long time but please continue to rub it in. everybody else blamed the hike on you but you say mom made you go so it sounds like somebody must be lying. I bet it would be fun to do though. basically we just walk all day everyday. In Pasacao it was a lot more hills and stuff to climb here it is mostly flat but we have a couple areas that are just right up the mountain basically. We have been finding like everyday. there aren't a whole lot of members in our area which has been tough but whatever.

I love you all so much and can't wait to hear from you next week!!

another week

Hey everybody. I know I'm behind all of you but I finally got around to watching General Conference. It was pretty darn great.
Monday was just our pretty normal pday. nothing super crazy happened.
Tuesday was the trainer and trainee meeting so that was a blast. We just went down to Naga and had some cool discussions and stuff about being new. sister Zapanta got mad at me for not eating vegetables and asked me what my mom would say if she knew... Probably you wouldn't be that surprised.
Wednesday was just a fun day of working. nothing crazy happened there.
Thursday we had interviews with President and then the Hansens worked with us so that was a blast. We went out to a members house and they fed us and gave us a referral so that was just the best.
Friday was just a good old regular day as well. Lots of walking and meeting new people.
Saturday we watched some General conference which I was really pumped about. the 2 hour church sounds like it will be pretty fun. I am excited to see how it works out.
Sunday was the same. Just finished up all the general conference. lots of cool promptings and stuff. I really enjoyed it all.  My trainee knows President Eyring and said he has 2 sets of golf clubs and goes out all the time. thought you might like to know that.
I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!!

Oct 7, 2018

Good morning!! this week was a blast for me. I for sure had a good time working and stuff. We finally got close to some of the members so they have been helping us out and they make me laugh so much!
Monday: We had our district activity. It was cool we went out to this random mountain that had some catholic stuff on it. Then we ate lunch on a table that was actually a statue thing of the last supper.so big lunch... haha it was a blast.
Tuesday we had exchanges. I worked with elder Tonumaipe'a. He is elder Dita's trainee so that was a blast. He is from Salt lake area. That night we worked with Arnold who I am pretty sure was born in the wrong country because he would be the biggest hick if he lived in Utah but I love him! He is so freakin funny.
Wednesday we just kept on doing our normal work stuff. Nothing super crazy happened that I can think of. We did teach our two PBDs Shannel and Joseph. they are both getting read for their baptisms.
Thursday we did our weekly planning which was just so much fun. gotta love planning. It really is helpful though. then we probably just went and worked so good stuff.
Friday we had our district council. that was a party. Just same old same old there. Pretty much all our work right now is trying to build our teaching pool and find a family to teach so thats what we do.
Saturday we had a nice brunch at a members house then went to elder dita's baptism. then we had a branch meeting and worked with some members.
Sunday was fast Sunday so that was really fun. after church we worked with some members so that was a party.
Mom yes I am connecting with the people a lot better now. being a trainer has helped because I have to talk to everybody.. I like it though. we eat ground pork and beans most days.

I love you all so much have a great week!!

Chase got a new camera this week and I think he's had a lot of fun with it

Sept 30, 2018

Hey family! this week was pretty fun. I feel like we probably walked like 50 miles and stuff but whatever its all good.
Monday; We extended to a girl named shannel and she accepted. so baptism on Oct 20!! Elder Wilkins was pretty nervous but he did a great job really.
Tuesday: We went out to a city named perpetual help. ( I'm not sure they know what they are saying there...) That was pretty fun except the fact the people that we had set up to meet with weren't there so we just did finding and walked forever in the jungle. people kept telling us that there we lots of houses down the road but man they tricked us. it was just a huge loop and the "lots of houses" was actually were we had been punted the first time so that was a bummer.
Wednesday: We had a solid time finding. It actually was going pretty rough until we OYM'd these two kids walking. I thought at first they were dating but cousins actually... awkward. Anyways while we were talking to them they were like our house is right here why don't you just teach us now. So that was really cool.
Thursday: We spiced things up and had district council today instead of on Friday. some choir thing in naga... that was a party. Elder Wilkins was having a bit of a rough time but after we got out to work he did a lot better. That was our hardest day for sure. we were finding like the whole day and only got one lesson in. I bet that's what it feels like to serve in America... I feel bad for them.
Friday: we did a solid weekly planning. We decided our best plan is to find a family and just dunk them so that is one of our goals right now. Find a willing family. We had a guy from ang Dating Daan invite us to speak at his bible thingy. We politely declined because he pretty much just wanted to tell us we were wrong but that was fun.
Saturday: We just did some normal work. Nothing too exciting happened there. business as usual.
Sunday: We finally got some members to work with us which was awesome. We really need their help here. We also got a couple referrals so that was super helpful.
I love you all so much and miss you. have a great week!
