Super Fun

So I'm sure Ken will say this email is just like the ones con used to send but honestly there isn't a whole ton to write about. Of course we worked hard and had a good time but it was mostly just finding and more finding so nothing super super cool to share. We walked a whole ton which is good because walking is always fun. Brother Reyes continues to be super awesome. It is his birthday  Tuesday which is gonna be super fun. It has been raining a ton here and so my feet are all gross at the end of the day. Wrinkly like an old man's feet. The sisters in our area had a baptism and they asked elder Ogzewalla to do it so we got to go to that which was pretty fun. Funny story the chair Elder Ogzewalla sat down in was covered in dirt so when he stood up he had all this brown stuff all over his butt in his nice white pants. Wonder what that could be.... way funny for me super not funny for him but he was a good sport about it which is good.  On Tuesday, Elder Ogzewalla had a district leader trainer meeting so I got to go on splits with an elder named elder Zeedik. We had a pretty darn good time and thought we found an awesome area that we could work in more throughout the week but when we went back Friday all the people decided that they didn't really want us to share our message and we just got super punted. That's all good though because now we know that we don't need to go back there for a little while. Awkward experience time. We were teaching in an area called San Rouque and there was this one house that let us in. It was a mom her son and daughter and the daughters friend. After we got to know them a little we began to teach lesson 1. After about 5 minutes the son says he has to go to the bathroom and doesn't come back. NOt cool to just leave us there bro. Anyways we keep teaching and as I am sharing a principle the mom (who is like 40 and married) goes You're really handsome. Okay so we get told that all the time by girls just walking on the street and then they run away laughing but I was really unprepared for that.. I just kinda looked at elder Ogzewalla for a second said thank you and finished the principle. Right after that we looked at the time and shoot dang we had to leave. I was just really not ready for that at all and it really caught me off guard.

Investigator Trust

So what a poopy week. Not as in bad but lots of poop things happened. First elder Ogzewalla stepped in poop and he was so worried about it getting on his pants he tried to scrape it off with a stick. Well somehow he ended up bending the stick back and then it went and flung poop on his pants anyways. I thought it was pretty darn funny. Luckily we were right close to the house and he just went and changed. Then Sunday morning my stomach was super unhappy and I went poop like 5 times in an hour. Not fun but I lived. Turns out though one of our investigators also was having stomach problems and he told us he had a little accident last night.... So yeah at least he trusts us enough to tell us about his life I guess. My week was pretty good though. We have still just been finding and finding trying to build up some teaching pools. It has gotten better though. Last week we only had 1 investigator who was progressing but now I think we have about 3 or 4 that have some good potential. We had this pretty fun experience with a guy who everybody calls the general. So we are just out finding and he comes up behind us and yells "mormons slow down." So we wait for him and talk to him a bit. He was pretty darn drunk but was also insistent on us coming to his house to teach him. We of course go. His house was super super nice and it just had a ton of teenagers hanging out in it. (all friends of his daughter) anyways he sits us down and asks us to teach him but every time we start he stops us with something or another. Like the first time somebody brings us out a ton of food and tells us to eat. Then we try to start again and he starts yelling at his daughter to sit down and listen. and then we try again and he says you are just young let me teach you the gospel. pretty great huh? Anyways all through this he is also telling us about his time in the army and how he had to trust God. After we finish the food he brought us we tell him we need to go and he wants to drive us to where ever we are going. Well he is drunk as a skunk so that's not happening. He walks out with us to the street where his car is and we have to tell him it is against the rules for us to go in cars. He says okay gets in a drives away. Hopefully he is alright. As soon as he leaves we just start laughing though. He just said some super funny things.  I'm getting used to my area and starting to learn it pretty well.  I love teaching the restoration just because we teach it so much and I can usually find all the words I want to say. We work with members when they are available because they are just a huge help for us and the investigator. I hope you are enjoying the winter for me it has been pretty hot here the last couple of days.
There is fruit and we always try and cut up some veggies to go in our dinner every night so we are at least kinda healthy. . The members here love white missionaries so we always have somebody to eat lunch with on Sunday and then sometimes a few other places throughout the week. We ride a jeepney every time we go to centro so on Mondays and Fridays.

Walk walk walk

So this week has been super great even though I have been super tired as well. Because nobody has worked here for a while we basically have an open area and that has been fun. We are both learning the area and just finding all day long.  Tuesday we were walking and a crazy thing happened. This guy pulls up on a motor and asks "Are you looking for me?" we were a little confused but we were like yeah sure we are totally. So he had us come back to his house and teach him. He is super super awesome and I think he will probably get baptized. He said in the last lesson we had with him that he thinks it was the Holy Ghost that helped him see us walking on the street. Other than that we have just been finding all day long. We found a sweet abandoned swimming pool one day and also this pretty weird catholic shrine thingy. Funny story while we were talking pictures at the shrine the priest showed up in this big truck and was like what are you doing?? We told him we just were taking some pictures because we thought it was cool and then he was way nice and said take all the pictures you want then. It just goes to show if you are respectful then the people treat you a lot better most of the time. We have run into a couple people that are pretty mean but for the most part the people want to talk to the two joes so it's all good. We got to work with some members yesterday and that was super awesome they are both RM's and super great at teaching. I was able to learn a lot from them.  Friday we had a meeting with the branch about their yearly goals which was fun but it went way long. They had bought chicken and shakeys (a really good pizza place) but because the meeting went so late we just both grabbed two slices and had to run out the door. It was like  8:50 so too late for any trikes to be out so we had to run home. It was super windy and rainy but we made it before 9 with like 15 seconds to spare but you know gotta be exactly obedient ;)  We had pretty much no food this whole week except for some mac and cheese that elder ogzewalla got in a package pretty sick of it now but we can finally go shopping and buy some more food.  There is shopping here just not in our area so we can only go on p-day. Sometimes I buy from street vendors but not often.  The other day I had some grilled pig fat, pretty good.  There are 6 in our district: the zl's the stl's and us. I don't know how many in the zone though.   Love you all so much and hope you have an awesome week!

5 Star

So after a huge hassle with figuring everything that has been going on out I am now a full time missionary serving in the Camaligan area!!! For this week have have been in a trio with Elder Ogzewalla and Elder Talabis. Elder Talabis is going home Tuesday,  so it will be just me and Elder Ogzewalla. I have only been with him for a week but I love him he is super awesome and I can see how badly he just wants to go out and work.  He is from Utah but he has lived all over the place Colorado, Oregon, Alabama and Minnesota. He has been out for 10 months. We are also really similar. He actually has had a super rough time. . Anyways I can't tell you much about our area because I haven't seen hardly any of it and I haven't worked in it at all. But it is all good because after Tuesday, we can really get to work. The nice thing is the apartment is super nice here! It has tile floor and a shower even! I think I never want to leave here. It really does seem like a 5 star place to me. And to make it even better there is a laundry place that will pick up our clothes and wash them and deliver them for pretty cheap so all we have to wash is our garments. Camaligan is super close to Naga so for Pday we can go to Naga central and go shopping and do other fun things in the city. It is so awesome to be in a place that has real roads and is just more city. I love it here and the members here love white missionaries. I have already had a couple lunch and dinner appointments and we have 3 meal/snack appointments today. Anyways other than that I don't have to much to tell about here because we are just stuck at the house most of the day. Elder Ogzewalla and I have been cleaning a lot because it need but other than that its just study and talk at the house.
