Back to Iriga

to me
I am back in Iriga zone! I don't have favorite zones but if I did it would totally be here. Things have been pretty wack but I've been having a good time and working hard. Mom says the day by day format is good so here we go.
Monday: It was a pretty normal day. We just had a good time and then told a couple members and people that we are teaching that I was being transferred. The exciting stuff happened at like 9:15 at night. I am packing my bags and President calls. So he tells me I am training!! Like an idiot I say but I am transferring. Luckily President is super nice and just goes I guess you'll open an area. So yeah open area training. its a blast.
Tuesday: I head down to the mission office and say goodbye to elder Olayon. He wrote me this super nice note about how he has really learned from my example and thinks I am a great missionary so that mad me feel cool. Then because I had a day until all the new missionaries arrived I got to work with Elder Rigby. Man that was super fun. He is a great missionary and we had a blast teaching people in his area even though there was this one lady who had a really hard time accepting the fact that you can't be half one religion and half another.
Wednesday: We had some meetings and stuff at the mission home about how we need to be perfect missionaries and about how we can make or break a new missionaries mission. So yeah a little pressure. Then I met my new comp elder Wilkins. He is from North Salt Lake and is just like I was in my training.   I have been working with him and day by day he is getting a little better. I can't blame him he is in a pretty crazy world now. We have a brand new house which is really nice but didn't have a whole lot in it so we are working to get it all supplied now.
Thursday: We did weekly planning (which was a joke I hadn't even worked in the area...) and then our District Leader, Elder Dita, worked with us to help us figure out the area a bit. That was fun and turns out not only is it a brand new area but the branch is only like 2 weeks old as well. But they are super excited and we have really felt their support.
Friday: We had district council and then went finding for the entire day. Lots of walking and a little teaching but it was a good time.
Saturday: Basically the same thing. Lots and lots of finding not a whole lot of lessons but a really good time. We did have a branch activity where we got to go ministering with a couple members. That was really fun.
Sunday: We don't have church until 1 because there are 2 other branches that meet in our building but church was fun. Elder Wilkins and I both gave talks (that was our language study everyday.) and they went really well. After church it was finding again which went really good and we got some lessons in.

transfers

Good morning everybody!! Well It is night time for you but whatever. How are things going? This week was pretty fun for me. I noticed Sam does this format that makes his emails look way long even though they aren't so I'm gonna try it out.
Monday: It was Pday. Nothing crazy fun or exciting happened because I don't remember anything from it. I am sure I had a great time though.
Tuesday: We had a District Leaders conf. in Sipocot which means I got to see elder Lougee which was super fun. Then we went and working in Caranan. Our lesson ended up going super long and by the time we tried to go home there were no more tricies. So we walked a solid 4 kilometers. that was super super fun. Luckily our only lesson after that was with a RC and she was very understanding of why we were late. She also had some bread that she gave us so I had just enough energy to make it home.
Wednesday: It was a normal day of work. It was starting to get a bit rainy and windy because of the approaching hurricane. That was way nice because it really cooled things down for us.
Thursday: Weekly planning was a blast. We didn't do anything else super exciting just work.
Friday was district council. it was also the day that the hurricane hit. but that was nothing at all. I think I have been in regular rainstorms here that were stronger but I know that other parts of the Philippines got hit hard. It was the last district council of sister Dait. So that was fun. it is always good to tease the leaving missionaries a bit.
Saturday: I got the exciting news that I am transferring!! I don't know where I am going but I am sure it will be great.
Sunday: we had the Zone Leaders interview our baptismal candidate mark. Sadly I will miss his baptism but that's just the way things go. He is super cool and will be awesome I just know it.

I love you all so much have a great week!!

Sept 9, 2018

Hey everybody! I hope you had a great week. My week was pretty good but not super exciting either. We just kept working like normal. One kinda sad thing is one of our investigators who had a baptismal date ran away from us. We hadn't seen him for like a week and when we finally caught him he straight up ran from us. So like I always say being a missionary gives you super powers. The power to be able to make people run at just a glance. We did have some good experiences as well though. We have been teaching the Ramirez family for some time and this week their mom started to listen in on all the lessons. That has been a huge blessing because she helps them pay more attention and encourages them to act.
Of course we had Zone conf. this week which was super great. I had a really fun time listening to the speakers and learned a lot. Also it was great to see some of the other missionaries. Sister Zapanta gave an amazing talk about not giving up even though it gets hard. That if we can push through we will gain so so much. It was really encouraging and helped me to be more willing to push through the hard days.
Dad It sounds like you had a pretty good week. That is great that you were able to shoot a 40. now you just have to take off one more stroke to hit the 39. I am sure you know this already but Jon is really going to be needing your help even if he says he doesn't want it. Do whatever you can for him. Also tell them that I love them as well.
Mom sounds like you had kinda a rough week. But as we know whenever we make a choice that is inspired of God, Satan will do everything in his power to make us doubt that. I would be willing to bet that is a reason this week went a little tough for ya. But keep up the great work and of course stay close to God I am sure you will not regret following God.

I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!!

Happy Birthday Kate!

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!!!! okay...Hey everybody!! this week was pretty fun. Here in Pasacao it was Fiesta which means there was no school and some kinda of town event every night. That made it a bit hard to work in town but our other areas that are far away were great because all the kids were home. We have really been focusing on a couple people trying to get them ready for baptism but only one of them is really progressing quickly. Of course it is important to work with people at their own pace so I have had to practice some patience. On Thursday we had a great dinner at a members house. We have been trying to help them learn how to better help in missionary work. It has been kinda slow going but they are super willing to learn so that is just awesome. I honestly don't have a ton of details for you this week. We have just been working like normal finding, teaching and walking a lot.

I love you all so much have a great week!!

Aug 26, 2018

Hey everybody!!! It sounds like you all had a great week and are ready for school! I can't say I'm super sad to not be going back to school. It is just way better out here where I don't have to go to school.
This week was pretty good for us. The people here are having a Fiesta this week so all of last week they were getting ready for that. Lots of events and stuff. Made it a little hard to teach but we did our best and we got to meet lots of new people which was fun. There was this one family that yelled hi to us while we were walking so of course we went and taught them. They have been super cool. Mostly it is just the kids that are interested but we are working on the parents. The kids invited their cousins and friends to listen to us and then on Sunday 5 of them came to church which is just crazy.
Saturday we had a baptism which was super fun. Sorry I don't have any pictures of it because my camera is being a little weird right now... I think a member took some pictures so I'll do my best to get those to you eventually. Everything went super great there and Justine's uncle baptized her. other than that it has just been work as normal. out here everyday finding and teaching..
I miss feeling cold. It just don't really happen here. honestly I need the Lord's help so much every day I don't really know when you put my name in the temple or not just because I know I am praying for it every day as well as lots of other people. I don't really run out of people to talk to.. there are lots of people but I do sometimes run out of people to teach. But we do our best.
. One kid we are teaching is named Mark. he is 19 and honestly super fun. His mom is a member but he lives with some of his cousins. He has been super accepting of the gospel and even went out and worked with us last night. We couldn't get a single member that was willing to work but he wanted to. He also plays basketball with us every Monday.
I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!!
