Week 1

This week has been crazy! I have learned so much and my testimony has grown a ton! It is true what they say about the MTC and how time is weird. The days feel like years but this week also seems to have flown by!! My kasama is a super cool guy. His name is Elder Lougee and he is from Casper WY. The weirdest part is he has a twin who is also in our district! They both have a great sense of humor and are super chill guys. My kasama was a swimmer all through high school so it is a good thing I have a little knowledge on that to  talk to him about it. My whole district is really cool and we get along really well. I really like the other two elders in my room. Their names are Elder Bennion and Elder Mickleson. There are 8 people in it total and 5 that are going to Naga! Elder Lougee (not my kasama but the twin) Elder Baum, who is way funny and full of energy, Elder Rigby who is also really cool and has a good sense of humor and Elder Sylvester who is cool. My kasama is going to Kayson City and Elders Bennion and Mickleson are going to Manila.

So since I'm sure you're dying to know what a normal day for me is I'll tell you. We wake up at 6:30 and get ready for the day. Breakfast starts at 7:15 but we try to get there a little early because the line can get huge! There are  just so many missionaries here! After we eat we go up to our classroom and do personal and comp study. Studying for an hour has taken some getting used to but I'm slowly getting there. After that we do language study which is only supposed to be 30 min to an hour but because Tagolog is such a tough language and we have to teach our "investigator" almost every day we end up studying that a ton. We have exercise time from 10:00 to 11:00. everyday. We either go to the weight room for 45 min and then run 15 or go to the field and play some sand volleyball. I'm not super good at volleyball but I'm getting there for sure.   Lunch is usually at 12:45 and then we have class that starts at 1:30. Class goes to 4:30 and we usually learn a whole ton of stuff. Sometimes the classes have more gospel than they do language study but more often it is the other way around. After class we usually try to get a bit more language practice until dinner at 5:15. After dinner we have another class that goes from 6:30 until 9:00. That class is usually more chill and our teacher just spends the time helping us so our questions and stuff for the lesson are correct. That class us usually when we teach Adrian, our investigator. I don't really know how to gauge how well we teach because pretty much anytime he has a question and asks us we just give him a blank stare. He has been reading in the Book of Mormon and praying though so that's good. Yesterday he said he would set the goal to be baptized sometime in September.

The food here has been super awesome and so I've got to make sure I don't gain too much weight. I weighed myself yesterday and I weigh 198 lbs so maybe I can keep it under 200 ;)  I have seen Dave a couple of times but it is usually when we are eating so no picture yet. I'll try and get one for you.
All of the pictures that you sent looked super awesome! Especially the one of the moose I'm so jealous.  Thank you so so much for the package!! I loved it so much It's way nice to get some stuff from home. The district is telling me to tell you to send some sour skittles and mini m&ms. I don't really care. Maybe a box or two of hot tamales would be nice to have.

The language has been a challenge for sure. It has a little Spanish but I don't know that either, so no help there. The only nice thing about it is all the words are said how they are spelled so it makes some of the words look like mom's kindergarten kids made them up. I knew I was really in for a struggle when they told me how to say faith which is pananampalataya. In Spanish I'm pretty sure it's just fey so that seems not too fair. Even though its been tough, I still like the language and Alam ko pa na (I know that) I'll figure it out eventually.

I don't really know how to see what picture is what so good luck on figuring out whats what. :)  I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
(I don't know who any of these cute Elders are, other than Chase :) I do know that they are all in his district.

See ya in 2!

We may have gone a little overboard on the pics, but 2 years baby.  Elder Wallace was so ready to go, he handled it way better than his parents.  As Kenna said, "Many years were shed when he just walked away from us."  He's off on his next big adventure.  Love you Chase, see ya in 2!
