Transfer Day

Hey this week was pretty good. Honestly we just worked like crazy trying to find people to teach and progress our other ones. The only really exciting thing is elder Mafi is getting transferred. (sorry kate) Honestly this week went by crazy fast for me. I am really having a hard time remembering what I did. And on top of that I don't really have a lot of time. I don't know who my new comp is until  tomorrow but it will be fun to figure out. I have really been putting in some study time on the Book of Mormon this week. Did you know that the church is under condemnation from the Lord because we don't use the Book of Mormon as much as we should? President Zapanta shared that with us last zone conf. I encourage you all to look for ways you can include the Book of Mormon in your life. I know the Lord will help you see them.
I love you all so much sorry for the small email I promise I will do better next week!!

Father's Day

Hey happy Fathers day!! Honestly I didn't even know it was fathers day until they announced it at church. But it's a good day. It sounds like dad had a good day so that is probably a good thing considering he is the only guy in the house so he should have some special days. This week was interesting. We had Zone conf this week which was pretty brutal. I learned some things about how I can be more obedient. It is crazy how quickly and sneakily complacence can sneak into our lives. Before the conference I thought I was doing the very best I could but President and Sister Zapanta showed me like 5 things that I can be doing better. Of course we implemented them as soon as we got back to our area and the last couple days have seemed super busy because of it. On Tuesday we had a choir practice for zone conf. We weren't very good probably because we only practiced once and it was the day before zone conf. But it was fun to be in the choir anyways. Elder Mafi and I have been finding like crazy now. We really need to find more people that are willing to listen to the gospel. Our IBDs ,the fransisco family, can't get baptized which is really sad. Their dad lives in Manila and we were finally able to contact him this week and he said that they can not be baptized under any circumstance. So that was really sad but we need to respect his wishes because he is the father. They still came to church which was good. Sunday we got to work with a member named Bernard. He is super cool and I enjoyed working with him a ton. He is 23 and working on going on a mission. He is the only member in his family and he said by next year he should be all ready to go. He said he just finished doing the social media fast and it changed his life. He said that it really helped him understand the scriptures better and built his testimony. I know it helped him because when he born his testimony in a lesson the spirit was so strong. We also had a member feed us last night. the main course was chicken feet. So yummy.

same old

This week was a pretty average week for me. There was/is a hurricane somewhere kinda near here so it has been super windy and cloudy everyday. I love it. It doesn't get very hot and at night it is the perfect temp. I wish it would stay like this forever. Because school started for all the kids here we have had to work around that. From a missionary standpoint school is a pain because all the kids we want to teach don't get home until 4 or 5. We were able to find a couple new people to teach this week which is always good. Friday was fun because the ZL came to our district meeting and then after we all went to a wedding reception that was right by the church. The groom is in our branch. They were all super funny and the food was great. A cool custom here in the Philippines is the bride and groom do this awkward dance at the front and people come up and put money on them. It was cool to see a little part of their culture. honestly I can't think of anything else that was exciting this week. Just work work work. Our investigator, Nica, is doing really good. She came to church again this week which is the third time in a row now. In other missions that would be a baptism but here she needs to come three more.

June 3, 2018

Hey this week was pretty normal for me honestly. It's funny you are all just getting out of school but all the schools here started today. Which means it will be tough to teach any younger kids for the next while. I have to be honest though I have kinda had to smile watching them all go to school knowing I don't have any school for a while. One sad thing that happened this week. Our investigator who was really progressing and doing awesome told us she doesn't want to be baptized or have us teach her anymore. I was pretty upset honestly I had really thought she would get baptized but I guess it is her choice and hopefully when she is a little older she will change her mind. We also had this guy come up to us this week and tell us he is from an island that is kinda a ways  away and he wants to get baptized. He said there is no church over there but he somehow got a Book of Mormon and read it. He also told us that he has land that he wants to give to the church so they can build an church on the island. I'm not totally sure but I think he wants to become a preacher but for our church because it is the true church. A little crazy but pretty funny. We told him we need to teach him before he can get baptized. We also helped clean up a school yard Saturday. while doing that I decided that using a machete is probably the worst way to mow the lawn but that's how they do it. needless to say it took quite a while. I think that is really all the big things that happened this week. Today we went out to an island that was super pretty and had a good time.
